Columbus, OH – Hot Chicken Takeover is partnering with Amethyst, a recovery program center, through a program to benefit the non-profit. Hot Chicken Takeover has produced a limited-edition shirt in honor of September being National Recovery Awareness month. The chicken restaurant will donate $5 from every shirt sold to Amethyst.
“We have had a partnership with Amethyst that has been tremendously impactful to our company,” shares Hot Chicken Takeover Founder Joe DeLoss. “Several women on our staff have utilized their services and it’s been an important stepping stone in their success. We see first-hand the importance of the work they’re doing, so giving back to them aligns with our mission in a very personal way.”
“Elevating conversations around recovery awareness is a big step. We are hopeful that this program will not only do that, but also generate dollars that we can funnel towards resources to help women in their recovery journey,” comments Amethyst Director of Development, Paige Bilotta.
Amethyst has already earmarked the donation money to purchase kitchen items for women who are being placed in transitional housing.
“Little things—like cookware and bakeware—make a big difference. It enables our women to have independence and a feeling of pride. The fact that Hot Chicken Takeover is donating the money raised from this program and allowing us to spend as we see fit is a gift within itself,” remarks Bilotta.
These special turquiose shirts will be available in sizes XS-3XL. They may be purchased at the North Market and Clintonville locations for $29 while supplies last. Each t-shirt purchase comes with a free meal, and each time the shirt is worn into the restaurant, the purchaser will get $1 off their order.
This year’s t-shirt design was created by Tonic Studios in Grandview.
National Recovery Awareness month runs September 1-30.
