Columbus, OH— Hot Chicken Takeover and Boxwood Biscuit Co. have teamed up to bring you two super unique, Nashville-style hot chicken biscuit sandwiches this fall. Available Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 only, the brands will each showcase a different recipe featuring Boxwood’s fresh and flaky buttermilk biscuits for a limited time.
Boxwood Biscuit Co. is the brainchild of Law Bird owners Annie and Luke Pierce along with Chef Tyler Minnis. The team launched the pop-up project, all based on and around scratch made, freshly baked, buttermilk biscuits, during Covid to help Law Bird with their overhead costs and ensure they make it to the other side of the pandemic.
“Our business started as a pop-up a little over six years ago,” shares Hot Chicken Takeover Founder, Joe DeLoss. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Annie, Luke and the Boxwood Biscuit team on two very delicious sandwiches. We share very similar roots and are excited to watch their new concept grow.”
Hot Chicken Takeover will serve their signature Nashville-style hot chicken sandwich on a biscuit for the very first time at all restaurant locations. The sandwich will feature a housemade honey butter, pickles, Ma’s Slaw, Boneless fried chicken on Boxwood’s homemade buttermilk biscuits. This limited time offering can be ordered in any of HCT’s Nashville-style heat levels at both their Central Ohio and Cleveland locations.
Boxwood Biscuit Co. will be offering their own unique take on a Hot Chicken sandwich. Starting with a HCT boneless chicken breast and loading it up with a fried egg, hot honey butter, “fancy sauce”, and peppadew pimento cheese – all on their signature house-made buttermilk biscuit.
