Columbus, Ohio— Hot Chicken Takeover (HCT) and long-time partners Columbus Food Adventures are bringing a brand new culinary concept to Central Ohio this summer. This one-of-a-kind food tour will include a well-known HCT collaboration and a view of Columbus from new heights.
“Columbus Food Adventures has included us in their Short North Food Tour for about 4 years now. We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner in a more meaningful way, and join together to bring something unique to our community,” shares Joe DeLoss, Founder of Hot Chicken Takeover.
Hot Chicken Takeover will serve their full menu, including a brand new side, which will be announced later this month. Food tour patrons can expect a HCT meal of their choice, bottomless Ma’s Sweet Tea and House Ranch for the duration of the ride.
The tour’s co-branded Double Decker bus turned food truck was imported straight from London late last year and has been undergoing a mammoth transformation to accommodate comfortable seating and a state of the art kitchen.
“When Joe DeLoss and I were brainstorming how our two companies could further collaborate, a customized double decker tour bus was the idea that rose to the top. We quickly moved to work with my UK connections on bus procurement and importation,” shares Columbus Food Adventures Co-Owner Bethia Woolf. “Upon delivery, HCT’s team has done a masterful job of integrating a state of the art mobile kitchen into the vehicle while maintaining a comfortable 32 passenger capacity. We could not be more excited to debut this!”
Hot Mikey’s Takeover, an annual partnership between Mikey’s Late Night Slice and Hot Chicken Takeover, will be one of the tour’s exclusive menu items.
“You’ve got to have a gimmick in this business,” exclaims Mikey Sorboro, CEO of Late Night Slice. “What could possibly be gimmickier than a two story bus full of people, fried chicken and pizza, cruising up and down the streets of Columbus?”
The tour will kickoff at the historic North Market and stop at four different Columbus restaurants. Patrons will start the tour with HCT— ordering their meal of choice out of the food truck pick-up window and taking their meals to the truck’s second level seating area to enjoy between stops.
