HOT CHICKEN TAKEOVER PARTNERS WITH LOCAL CHARITY TO BENEFIT VETERANS

Restaurant to donate proceeds from shirt program to Run Down the Demons

Columbus, OH – Hot Chicken Takeover is partnering with Run Down the Demons (RDtD), a local non-profit that advocates for education, awareness, and research to support complications that veterans and their families might be facing. The restaurant has produced a limited-edition Army green shirt in honor of Veteran’s Day and pledged to donate $5 from every shirt sold to RDtD.

“We have team members who have served our country or have a close family member or friend who has served,” shares Hot Chicken Takeover Founder, Joe DeLoss. “We’ve learned first-hand from our own employees the challenges veterans face and we are grateful to partner with an organization creating solutions for our veteran community here in Columbus.”

“Many veterans and family members face unique challenges when returning to civilian life. It’s our goal to create effective programs and resources for our veterans here in Columbus to help bridge that gap. We’re hopeful that this partnership will not only generate funding for projects that we have on the horizon, but also ignite conversations around what we can do as a community to support our veteran population,” shares Run Down The Demons Founder and CEO, Colin Winter.

RDtD has already earmarked the donation money to fund supplies and resources needed to conduct a yoga and wellness program for female veterans impacted by traumatic experiences that may have occurred during any point throughout their military service.

“We have found the female Veteran population to be more reluctant to come forward for any reason, let alone to seek help, peace, or tranquility.  Run Down the Demons wants all our female Veterans to know they are not alone. HCT and RDtD want to engage the community in highlighting the importance of female warriors, and change the dialog to action.  This female-only yoga platform is a small start to what we hope is a major movement,” notes Winter.

The Veterans shirts will be available in sizes XS-3XL.  They may be purchased at the North Market, Clintonville, and Easton locations for $29 while supplies last. Each t-shirt purchase comes with a free meal, and each time the shirt is worn into the restaurant, the purchaser will get $1 off their order. These limited-edition shirts will be available through the end of the year.

Hot Chicken Takeover also offers 50% off to all active and inactive military personnel and first responders in uniform, or with a valid ID. This is a standard discount offered at Hot Chicken Takeover every day.

The t-shirt design was created by Tonic Studios in Grandview and is printed on 100% cotton Made in the USA fabric.
