Team. Hustle. Ownership. Growth. Solutions.

Hot Chicken Takeover: Restaurant Manager Position

Hot Chicken Takeover is taking over…well, at least we’re trying. As our company is growing, so is our team. We’re currently looking for a Restaurant Manager with aspirations to grow with HCT. As our brand continues to expand, so will opportunities for upward mobility—and the RM role is the first step in a rewarding career path with Hot Chicken Takeover. If you have what it takes to be an effective manager and aspire to be an effective leader, we want to meet you.

ABOUT HCT
Just under 3 years ago, we started selling Nashville-style hot chicken out of a window in Olde Towne East — we did it every weekend for an entire summer and fall. From there, we opened up on the second floor of the historic North Market downtown. By the end of 2017, we will have three fully-operational locations plus our food truck.

Aside from great chicken, we’re also a Fair Chance employer— this means we judge our applicants by their future plans, not their past. We live by our five values; Team, Hustle, Ownership, Growth and Solutions.

The Restaurant Manager’s success will be based on the ability to perform the following duties:

  • Maintain Day-to-Day Restaurant Operations: Ensuring all shifts run smoothly is a primary responsibility of this role. The RM will be in charge of creating and maintaining the crew schedule, training crew members, and supporting the Party Food program.
  • Inventory Management and Control: Candidates must be able to manage both food, paper, and merchandise inventory. This includes weekly ordering, trouble-shooting shortages during unexpected peak times, and using forecasting models and tools provided by the company.
  • Operational Support: The General Manager of the restaurant will lean on the RM to make sure food and labor targets are met, provide support for onboarding new crew members, and ensure safety and food regulations are met at their restaurant. Additionally, the RM will handle special projects on an as-needed basis.
  • Other Duties as Needed: Provide insights and support for the management team

Attributes of a rock star RM:

  • Effective communicator: You should be able to clearly articulate what needs to happen and when—and your team understands what is expected of them.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills: You’ll be running a restaurant—that means being on top of things. Do you have a place for everything and everything in its place? Then you would be effective in this role.
  • Flexible thinker, creative problem-solver, accustomed to working on a variety of projects at once. Have you ever had a problem pop up that you didn’t anticipate and figured out a solution without even batting an eye? Then you would thrive in this environment.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and empower team: If you were stranded on an island, would you be the Jack Shephard of the team, or the Hugo? If you don’t know what we’re talking about, Google it.
  • Customer-oriented: You have to love working with the public, and the public has to love working with you.
  • Have a “whatever it takes” attitude: Our team is never too humble to work the dish tank–actually, it’s required that every single position in our company works a shift on the dish tank when they start. If you’re willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done, we want to meet you.
  • Thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced, collaborative environment: We’re a start-up, scaling for growth. Enough said.
