What is Hot Chicken Takeover?

Founded in 2014, Hot Chicken Takeover started as a small, weekend-only window in Columbus’ Olde Towne East neighborhood. Today, we have 6 restaurants and a stadium location spread throughout Central and Northeast Ohio.

We’ve been serving up made-to-order, Nashville-style hot chicken alongside delicious, classic side dishes. Our founder’s grandmother offered up her decades-old recipes for the mac and slaw, as well as the sweet tea.

Here at HCT, we attract an eclectic mix of customers and strive to build community around our long shared tables. We want your time here to remind you of your favorite backyard barbecue. HCT is about way more than just food.

And Nashville hot chicken?

We start with fresh chicken and brine it for over 15-hours in our special mix of seasoning. From there, our chicken gets a double toss in a special mixture of flour and seasoning before getting fried cut-by-cut in our custom pressure fryers.

All our chicken is raised with a full vegetarian diet and is free of antibiotics, steroids, and hormones. Most importantly, however, our chicken is exclusively sourced fresh, and is never frozen.
