2017 Pay It Forward Program with Food Rescue US

HCT Launches 2017 Pay-It-Forward Program

Columbus, OH – Hot Chicken Takeover (HCT) has partnered with Food Rescue US to provide food to Central Ohio residents who suffer from food insecurity through their annual Pay-It-Forward program.

Between December 18-24, Hot Chicken Takeover customers will have the opportunity to add a $5 donation to their check. Every $5 donation will generate 100 meals, which will be delivered to those who need it most this holiday season.

“Last year we did this on our own and we had record-breaking numbers which blew us away,” shares Hot Chicken Takeover Founder, Joe DeLoss. “But with Food Rescue US as a partner, we’re able to maximize each dollar donated to create an even deeper impact.”

Food Rescue US transfers fresh, usable food that would have otherwise been thrown away from restaurants and grocers to shelters and organizations that provide food insecure families throughout Central Ohio and beyond.

“We’re excited for the program this year,” remarks Kevin Mullins, Food Rescue US Founder and CEO. “Hot Chicken Takeover has always been a great supporter of the work we do, but this program takes it to a whole new level.”

Customers can donate at all three Hot Chicken Takeover locations in-store, and can also add the donation on to their online orders. In-store donors will have the opportunity to fill out a notecard with a message which will be passed along to a meal recipient.

“Last year, reading the messages was one of our favorite parts of the holiday season,” reflects DeLoss, “we’re looking forward to seeing what our customers will do this year.”
