Columbus, OH— Hot Chicken Takeover will reopen their Clintonville restaurant location with an enhanced menu experience and a brand new chicken cut next Monday, May 18.
“While our restaurants were temporarily closed, we took advantage of the down time to reevaluate how our team can better serve our community of customers,” shares Joe DeLoss, Founder of Hot Chicken Takeover. “We’ve restructured our menu to give our customers more choice and flexibility in spending— something that feels very relevant to many of us right now.”
HCT’s refreshed menu will offer their classic sides— Ma’s Mac, Ma’s Slaw and Baked Beans— a la carte, allowing guests to order their ideal meal. This new menu experience will launch at HCT’s Clintonville restaurant on May 18, rolling out to all locations as they reopen.
Hot Chicken Takeover will also be offering a Thigh only meal for the first time, replacing the ‘Dark’ cut on their menu. This new menu option will come with 2 Thigh pieces, available in any of HCT’s Nashville-style heat levels.
Their reopening will also bring changes to how they serve vegan menu options. HCT’s house seitan— ‘Not Chicken’ and ‘Not Chicken Sandwich’, added to the menu last September— will now only be available on Mondays.
“We’ve been working hard to identify a solution that enables us to better serve our vegan community,” shares DeLoss. “Serving our Not Chicken one day a week will allow us to prepare each order in separate oil, eliminating shared fryers and cross contamination.”
With plans to reopen their three additional locations over the coming months, the HCT team plans to take a cautious approach to operations after closing mid-pandemic over 7 weeks ago. Starting Monday, Hot Chicken Takeover will reopen their pick-up window, operate carryout and curbside pick-up, encouraging guests to order online.
